I started this organization after I heard a local refugee say, “I believe if the people know what is happening, they will help to stop it.” Back then, it seemed like the refugees really thought we’d show up any day now to help them. (As it should have been)

The impression I get lately is that the refugees are still sitting in camps five years later, and they've stopped believing that anyone will come to save them.

They’ve lost hope.

Then it dawned on me… what If we could get letters written from around the world and somehow get them in to these camps? Then maybe we could give them hope again. Hope is a powerful tool! We could remind them that we are fighting, that we do care, that we haven't forgotten them and that we will continue as long as we have to. At least that way we'd be helping them mentally, while we pushed to get more action taken to help them physically.

It was also brought to my attention that the Aid workers in these areas are risking their lives to bring help to these people and deserve some support, encouragement and appreciation from the international community. I’m sure they must often feel forgotten themselves.

I contacted every organization and aid group I could find to see if they’d be willing to help us get letters into the camps. Originally, we only received a response from 16th Of May Foundationand they were willing to jump right on board. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be teaming up with them. We were later able to team up with Project Education Sudan. We hope to continue to expand these efforts in order to reach as many locations as possible.

"I believe that hope survives, love prevails, tears cleanse, memories comfort, faith soothes, good thoughts reassure, and that our belief in a better place calms the heart."
